chips and pretzels

Pete, Jean, Bruce and I traveled to Hanover, Pennsylvania. We toured the Snyder factory that makes all those snacks that we buy. there was a guided tour and the lady explained about the process from beginning to end. We were on a hallway of windows up above the workers and machines and conveyer belts. YES, we were given free samples. i liked the honey wheat pretzels and the chocolate covered peanut butter pretzel sandwich.

We had not seen enough of the process of making potato chips and pretzels, we went to the Utz (family owned) factory. It was a smaller operation, but still shipped MANY cases of potato chips.
Snyder's factory covers a 300,00 sq. ft. area. The Utz brochure says that their factory covers a 600,00 sq ft. area. it seemed smaller. perhaps we did not see all of it.

We ate our MOD at a Perkins Family Restaurant. We returned to the campground after shopping at Lowe's and Giant grocery store.
We rested for a short while and then rode over to Sachs Covered Bridge. Oh yes, i thought of Clint and Meryl (Bridges in Madison County)

1996 flooding caused bridge to float away
