Lakewood Camping Resort

Today we traveled about 70 miles south to Lakewood Camping Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. We arrived about 10:30AM and our site was not ready. We utilized the time and went over to the Food Lion parking lot. I bought groceries while Bruce walked Petie. he also unhooked the car and allowed me to drive to the campground and campsite. I told him that I felt like I had graduated from Kindergarten. He actually let me buy groceries and drive the car!!! When we are on the road, he usually does all of this. We did not get assigned to site 2503. But we have 2103 which is a bit closer to the ampitheatre. We can see the ocean from our campsite!! Bruce noticed a nail in a tire of our car. He took it and had it fixed while I cleaned the RV. I then exercised 3 miles with Leslie Sansone!! Much needed after these past few days. On the campground, just across the street from our site, is a vendor that sells fish two evenings every week. We wanted seafood, so we bought one to go plate and it fed both of us for $10.

Here at last!!

our 4 stops to Myrtle Beach

6-24-2012 We traveled 215 miles today to reach Thousand Trails/Hershey, Pa. We unhooked and went to eat at the Funck's Family Restaurant in Palmyra again. This time I had the fried chicken and fried egg plant again along with steamed brocolli. the chicken was great as before. the brocolli was good but cold. the egg plant was a bit greasy. We parked up in the H area again on the hill. Unfortunately we were high enough that the satellite would not work. No TV!!! We listened to Gaither Gospel music and it was great.

6-25-2012 Bruce put Emporia, Va into the GPS and it said just over 300 miles. So, he made reservations at Jellystone RV Park. He went thru Richmond, Va(I 81S, I 64E, I 95S). The GPS had planned on us going thru Washington DC and Baltimore. Therefore, we ended up traveling 401 miles today. This was NOT good for Bruce. He was exhausted. Kelly posted a wonderful picture of Riley saying 'Good Morning'. I cried and cried. I do not like being so far away. We had Stoffeurs macaroni and cheese for our MOD.  We had a lazy evening, needless to say.
We had great concerns for our friends Pete and Jean Crean who are in Florida getting their rig upgraded at Classic Coach Works, Helen green's mother, who lives ther and Kelly's Aunt Melissa's family and her grandparents who are vacationing at Disney. Hurricane Debby hit Florida's west coast and central and upper Florida with floods of rain. all are well thanks to God.

was a repeat stay
not a bad place at all

6-26-2012 We traveled to Dillon SC today (203 miles) and stayed at Bass Lake RV Park for tonight. We have reservations in Lakewood RV Resort/south Myrtle Beach beginning tomorrow. We have a nice pull thru site so we did not unhook the car. We had a balogna and cheese sandwich for lunch. We are using this PM as REST time!!

The Yellow Lantern RV Park on the flipside

We traveled 110 miles today to Cortland, NY. As we did on the way up, we used a pull through site at the Yellow Lantern RV Park. Bruce made us a griddlered banana and nutella sandwich. WOW! this was good.

Saying Goodbye for now is NEVER easy

Last evening we had dinner with Bubba and Kelly and Greg, Tammy and Karrie at the Texas Roadhouse. This was our time to say goodbye for now. It was so hard. God has blessed us beyond measure with our son, daughter in law and now our first grandchild, Riley. instead of feeling undeserving (as I am), I thank and praise God for allowing me these blessings. I love them beyond measure and hope that they realize this. Their safety and happiness is my greatest prayer for them.

Looking SO forward to the next time that we get to see Bubba, Kelly and Riley

there will always be more about them!!!!!!

This evening, we traveled to Sackets Harbor and all had a meal at the Boathouse Restaurant.

This was a return trip for us and it was as great as it was last year!! As Tammy said on her facebook post, it was unbelievable that we were sitting around a table 2 years ago planning a wedding. This time we were celebrating God's beautiful, wonderful gift to our families.

A time of celebration!!!

Riley Grace Hamrick

today has been the first day of being
Grandma Maretta /Retta/Rella

Riley was born at 1:43AM this morning. She weighed 8 lbs and 5 ounces. She measured 21 inches long. This was the first picture that I saw of her. My cousin, Gena, said it best. "Monday's child is full of Grace. how cool is that !!!!!"

Riley Grace Hamrick

As I looked at this picture,  I could see that baby placed in my arms so many years ago. Especially because of her cheeks because I remember vividly thinking 'his cheeks look like a chipmunk.
As I looked at this picture, I see my daughter in law's nose and lips. As Bubba told his grandmother, 'Well maw Maw, she has a 50 50 chance of looking like me or Kelly" oh yeah, he loves to get Maw Maw!!!
Bruce and I are so overwhelmed with love for our granddaughter.....Yes. But it makes us love our son and daughter in law even more than before. More love for Bubba as we watch him be such a protective husband and father. More love for Kelly as she allowed her physical strength to be drained as she carried and delivered this baby. only God is to have the glory!!!  They are taking parenting at ease right now and we have the utmost admiration for them both.

Admiration of his baby girl
