God/the ocean

today has been another #10 day down on the ocean. VERY breezy. that helps with the heat for sure. I have always felt closer to God when i am at the ocean. today was no different. i listened to a Chuck Wagon Gang gospel CD (Reminiscing). old songs like The Church in the Wildwood. I thought of bruce's home church which is nestled in the middle of trees all around and the memory of God bringing us together in marriage at that church. Alot of the songs were about the heavenly home taht i plan to live in some day. It will certainly be a Heaven's Jubilee when that happens!
As i listened to these old gospel songs, i thought about the ocean being so like God. Of course, He was it's Creator. God is omnipresent. He is everywhere! the Atlantic Ocean is present here as well as SO many other places. God is omnipotent. he has supreme, unlimited power. the ocean is so powerful with it's huge waves. God said Himself that He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. when sitting on the beach, the ocean feels like it has infinite never ending capability. Yet the part that we visualize is very real.

We enjoyed grilled chicken and fresh corn on the cob for supper. My husband is so good to me. he likes to cook. so my job is clean up when the meal is finished.

Petie is trying to get used to less food at his feedings. Oh me, he wants to get up earlier because he knows food comes after he goes outside. Also, he starts asking for food earlier every afternoon. Poor puppy. i hope that Bruce does not put me on a diet. LOL

Until next time

a day at the beach

I would like to talk about the name chosen for our blog. We have been RVers for nearly 40 years. We have always involved the RV with time away from home. As soon as we returned home we had to go back to work. We always talked about sosme day we will not have to hurry home because of work. Well, as of August 1, 2010, Some Day is Here for us
.

Bruce stayed at the rig
one of our favorite places to be for an extended length of time is Myrtle Beach, SC. We are staying at Lakewood RV Resort at this time. Today was a PERFECT day. The temperature was in the 80s and the ocean breeze was strong. I went down to the ocean about 9:30am with my tote bag packed. I listened to CDs and read Lisa Jackson's Absolute Fear. I chose the best of Peter, Paul and Mary. They and the 5th Dimension were my favorites. I also listened to Grand Stand Gold. This was alot of beach music!!!

Bruce grilled hotdogs for supper to have with his homemade chili. Yum Yum!

This am my Bible study meant alot to me. Jeramiah 15: 10-11 is about Jereamiah being so discouraged and the Lord telling Jeramiah that He would be with him and deliver him through times of trouble and distress. Then in the NT, Matthew 11:28 tells us "Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and i will give you rest." In 1 Peter 5: 6-7, the Scripture says "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exhaltyou at the proper time, casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you."

on the road again

Petie is ready to be on the road again!

Bruce does this SO well!!

Yesterday, we traveled to Asheville, NC for an appointment with my GI specialist. I received news that my barium swallow x ray showed some spurs on my cervical 7 and thoracic 1 vertebrate, not really related to strangling easily.

Oh well, after resting some, Bruce cranked the RV and we met the Clarks and Greenes in the Wal Mart parking lot. The Boones came to see us off and will join us in the am. We had an uneventful drive to McBee SC. We parked in the parking lot of the Huddle House. We had a sandwich and was soon asleep for the night.

arrived at the Huddle House/McBee SC
We three couples were eating breakfast this am when five more rigs pulled in to join us. WOW the parking lot was full.

8 rigs headed to MB/ the next am
We journeyed on the Lakewood Camping Resort located in south Myrtle Beach, SC and arrived there at 12 noon.

So pleased to be assigned 'our'site 2503

Cacti blooming just across the road from our site.
we reminicesed about all the times with Bubba and his Lakewood friends, the engagement of Bubba and Kelly on July 4, 2009. He left for his iraq tour shortly after that. Then August 28, 2010, they were married!! we are set up well. there is an indoor pool and a  fresh produce stand across the street from us!!!! Also across the street from us is a large area of cacti that are blooming like crazy (a rare sight to see). we think they were moved from a site that was moved from the front row.It will be cold cut sandwiches for supper tonight and a cantaloupe for dessert.
Petie is our French bulldog. He certainly has traveled well these past two days and he stands guard when he is awake. There is just TOO much activity here for him not to be alert at all times
Until next time

We left that day to Florence,SC and spent the first night.of genuine retirement. we traveled on to Myrtle Beach the next day for two and one half weeks. We returned to see our son, Donald marry Kelly Marie Smith from Hickory, NC. This was a great day and we gained a wonderful daughter.
We spent Thanksgiving at Myrtle Beach. We then spent one week at James Island State Park with friends.
We came back home to celebrate Christmas with our mothers and Bubba and Kelly.
We left on December 25 and traveled slowly to the Florida Keys. We stayed at Grassy Keys RV Resort in Marathon, Florida for three days.
We then traveled slowly back to Thousand Trails Resort near Orlando. we stayed three weeks. We moved to TT in Wachula, Florida for one week. We then moved into a cabin at TT/Orlando while we had our coach interior redone at Classic Coach Works in Lakeland, Florida.
We then went to a Bounder club rally at Blueberry Hill RV Resort in Bushnell, Florida for one week.
We then moved to TT/Orlando for three weeks. We love our new interior!!! good for ALMOST full timing.
We then moved to Perry, Ga. to a national FMCA rally with our great friends, Pete and Jean Crean.
We FINALLY arrived back to Morganton on March 28. This was after spending a week with our fifth wheel friends at Cross Country campground in Denver,NC.
Our hopes are to have a much slower paced winter next year!! Until next time.

That was our first winter as retirees.
