On the road again

We returned home on October 14 to begin alot of medical appointments and getting ready for the upcoming holidays. On October 15, Mother and I traveled to Rutherford County to attend the funeral of a cousin. On November 7, Kelly asked us if we could have a Skype with them. Bruce looked at me and asked  "Are you thinking what I am thinking?" I replied, "Oh, I hope so. I just do not want to get my hopes up too much". We were correct. We were told that we are to be grandparents in June, 2012!!! We are SO excited for them and us to be grandparents to Reilly Grace or Lincoln Bruce.
We went to Cross Country Campground from November 3-7. Bruce had serious BP problems and had to go on another BP medication :((. On November 12,Bruce, Mother and I traveled to Rutherford County for a Hoyle gathering at Sandy level Baptist Church. On November 17, we started to Myrtle Beach, SC. We stayed one night at Florence RV Park in Florence, SC. We stayed at Briarcliffe RV Resort from November 18-December 5 when we went down to James Island County Park at Charleston, SC. While we were in myrtle beach, we completed our Christmas shopping. the Festival of Lights at James Island County Park were great as usual.
On December 16, we picked Bubba up at the airport in Charlotte. On December 17, we hosted the Hamrick Christmas gathering for about 20 people. We had alot of fun visiting with family. On December 18, we had the Duckworth gathering at Maw Duckworth's house. Another fun filled time with family. On Decmeber 20, Kelly arrived. On December 21, We had family portraits taken at Studio Graphics by Andy Hern. we got to preview these pictures before we left. They turned out really good! Kelly's parents joined us for a meal together and then at Burkemont Baptist Church for the candlelight and communion service. This was an awesome time with our families joined at the Lord's table. On December 24, we had Bruce's Mother and Jesse, Bruce's Aunt Anne, my Mother and Bubba and Kelly. After breakfast, we opened gifts with Mother, Bubba and Kelly. That evening at 10 PM, we joined Kelly's family at 1st Presbyterian Church in Hickory for Candlelight and communion service. Once again, an awesome experience being 'one family'. Christmas Day, we attended our worship service and then RESTED.
We then concentrated on getting the rig ready for travel. We said our goodbyes on December 26 to Bubba and Kelly. It will NEVER get any easier. We then pulled out for the winter in Floridaon December 28.

HOME/Maw Maws

We traveled from Myrtle Beach to Morganton early AM. We arrived about 11:30 AM. My mother sure was glad to see us and I was VERY glad to see her. She looks so good and has weathered our absence with flying colors. I am proud of her. My Mother in Law has also kept the home fires burning very well while we have been gone. She has taken excellent care of my plants in the sun room.
We thought that we would be going to a Hoyle reunion tomorrow. The Hoyle family will be together but for Judy Landis Philbeck's funeral services. To remember this wonderful woman's life will be with happiness about her restored body in Heaven!!!
Petie ran from from end of the house to the other as fast as he could go about three times. i thin k that he was glad to be home too.
We have traveled 4650 miles. We had $3,541.42 total camping fees. The average per day was $31.34 per day. We had a total of $2550.37 diesel fuel expense. We were gone 113 days.

Briarcliffe RV Resort

Briarcliffe RV Resort is located in North Myrtle Beach. it is a membership RV Park. We bought a membership about 10 years ago.  I remember telling Bruce that we now can live in a 'gated RV community.' We pay an annual maintenance fee. We then call for a reservation when we need to use the park and after checking in, we select the vacant site that we want. Each site is a concrete pad. There are people our age usually in this park. Bubba calls it the ol folks campground. "You can smell more Ben Gay than Hawaiian tropic" per Bubba. The park is usually very quiet. We see alot of the same members from time to time. We like to park on Iris street, however we like it about anywhere we can get a site.  The clubhouse is big and alot of activities happen here. ice cream socials, Bingo, a non denominational church service on Sunday AM and a nice exercise room and a large pool on the intercoastal waterway. The Chapel is such a nice place to visit especially when there are urgent prayer needs that come up during the visit. the altar is always open with an open Bible. There is an outside activity area including a mini golf course. There is a good mixture of transient sites with permanent sites and cabins. We really enjoy our times at this RV Resort.
