We traveled 199 miles today via Hwy 154 and 101. The drive was very scenic. BUT again, mountainous and it is tough driving steep grades up and down. We saw deer, llama, horses, cattle and many vineyards and wineries and other crops being grown and harvested. We went through Pismo Beach, California the "clam capital of the world". in the Dragnet movie, Bill Gannon retires to Pismo Beach due to poor health. After 8 months and 3 weeks eating clam chowder his health improved and he was reinstated to the LAPD. When Joe Friday asked him the reason, he replied "the clams, Joe, the clams". We went by San Luis Obispo. We went by Camp Roberts used by the Army National Guard.
