Branson, Missouri...

We traveled from St. Joseph to Reed Springs, Missouri. This was again somewhat of a mountainous drive. I 'think' they are called the Ozarks!!! The Eastern sky was absolutely breathtaking. I thought my Lord was right ready to break through that cloud. I truly think that He may have just been thinking about it.

We passed through Ozark, Missouri. This is where one of three restaurants called Lambert's Café is located. We came back, after getting set up, for the meal of all meals. My order was a pulled pork sandwich on a sesame roll with beets as my side. It came with a small souflee cup of cole slaw and a small dish of barbecue sauce on the side. THEN, then someone came around with fried and gave me a good sized serving as an appetizer. THEN,  after our entrée came we were offered fried potatoes and black eyed peas. Bruce had beef liver and onions. We did not leave hungry. After leaving the restaurant, we saw one of several available zip lines in Branson.

zipping away!!!!!!

began in 1942

An appetizer, fried okra
61,200 lbs. of Arkansas okra is distributed to customers in a year

the roll thrower and
the girl with the sorghum molasses to go onto the roll

YES! he really does throw the roll to you if you ask for one
a grand total of 520 dozen rolls or 2,246,400 individual rolls per day

No!! I did not need a refill on unsweetened iced tea this meal

A look through the restaurant as we left

We traveled through some other towns with strange names like Humansville and Cabool.

We also traveled through Springfield, Missouri which is home to the first bass Pro Shop. in 1971, a young Johnny Morris, frustrated with the lack of tackle in local stores, rented a U Haul trailer and took off across the country, filling it with the newest tackle he could find. When he returned to Springfield, he began his own Fishing business with eight feet of space in his dad's liquor store which became a popular stopping off place for local and out of state fishermen on the way to the  Ozark's famous bass lakes. In 1974, he printed his first catalogue. Bruce ordered from him way before any store near us was available. From that simple beginning, bass Pro Shops has become one of America's premier outdoor retailers with destination retail stores across America and Canada. Each store is unique and offers a truly unforgettable shopping experience.
