Fernley, Nevada

We traveled 207 miles today from Alturas, California to Fernley, Nevada. We past many Alturas ranches with lots of cattle, sheep and horses. We saw lots of alfalfa fields which brought back memories of his grandfather growing alfalfa. We rode through an area of open range and saw some cattle up on the hill. No fencing at that point to keep them from crossing the road. Bruce spotted five wild burros on the side of the rode under a shade tree. We spotted llamas and pronghorn sheep, too. We saw an elevation sign of 5,500 feet called the Sage Hen Summit. The rode was two lanes most of the way but was not a bad ride. We saw a huge area that at first appeared to be a body of water. It was a salt flat instead. We were stopped for a break at a scenic area. We watched a red tailed hawk fly away with a bird. This was when we were near Patrick, Nevada. A few pictures:
