Vietnam Veterans

1-30-2013   Bruce is a Vietnam Veteran. I am the wife of a Vietnam Veteran. It is a known fact that soldiers returning from Vietnam were NOT treated well. Their own country spat on them, threw things at them, called them names and did not show the respect they deserved!! As years have passed the USA has attempted to remedy this. It is appreciated by most, but it is difficult for those soldiers to forget. Many have dealt with their experiences in different ways.

Bruce and I have met the coolest Vietnam Veteran. He lost both legs in the war. His life goes on with artificial legs to substitute for his own that were lost. He does anything he wishes to do. It is amazing to watch him walk. It is amazing to watch him set up his RV camp. Included in his decor is the American flag and two "flower pots" which exemplify his personal acceptance of life and his sense of humor.
