Hurricane Sandy

10-28-2012  WOW! another hurricane hitting the Eastern US coast from Georgia to Maine. VERY concerned about Kelly's relatives and some of our friends in Delaware. We also have friends in Virginia who live full time in their RV that we are keeping touch with.
We went to Granny's Chicken Palace for lunch and learned as we were checking out that they are retiring and are closing permanently :(( The food is Great and we will miss it.
I spent the afternoon writing Christmas cards and got them finished! The weather is deteriorating.

What makes this hurricane So different is that it is colliding with a cold front. This is causing snow in the higher level of the Appalachian Mountains.

10-29-2012  We are having dreary weather here. it is snowing some but NO accumulation!! Cooking a pound of mixed beans in the crockpot. We had sausage and eggs for breakfast.  Washed two loads of clothes and cleaned all the dishes after eating the beans and tomatoes for our MOD.

The devastation along the eastern seaboard is terrible with wind and flooding damage. one neighborhood is reported as having been destroyed by fire (50 homes). Lake Erie waves up to 25 feet...a huge 700 ton tanker was brought to shore and ended up on front street on Saten Island...NYC under water ( the subway and bridges and the NY stock exchange closed)

We stayed in ALL day!!

10-30-2012  The sun tried to shine here but was soon replaced by clouds and we saw more snow. The vehicles were covered. The temperature is in the 30s. I have resumed my exercise program and today i did 3 1/2 miles. We both had spa time and then we went to Angelo's Pizzeria in waynesville. this is such good food. A large salad and a personal 6 inch personal pizza was plenty for our MOD.
Washed another load of clothes.
We have heard from Kelly's relatives (facebook) and they are fine. Bubba and Kelly and riley are good. Pete and Jean did not even have to move their RV from their site!!

Makes our few pictures of Jonathan's Creek SO insignificant and humbling to be out of harm's way. Brings us to our knees with prayers for those in harm's way.
